Revision of the Church Electoral Roll 2010
The Church Electoral Roll is to be revised beginning on 16 March and ending on 26 March. New persons wishing to be on the Roll need to complete a form. Any changes to details, such as names and address, and any deletions of current members, need to be notified to me. Forms must be in by Sunday 14 March at the latest.
Under the Church Representation Rules, any persons are entitled to have their name entered on the roll if they:
a) are baptised and are aged 16 or over;
b) have signed a form of application for enrolment;
and either
c) are members of the Church of England or any Church in communion with the Church of England being resident in the parish or (not being resident in the parish) having habitually attended public worship in the parish during the six months prior to the application for enrolment;
or
d) are members in good standing of a Church (not in communion with the Church of England) which subscribes to the doctrine of the Holy Trinity declaring themselves to be also members of the Church of England and having habitually attended public worship in the parish during the period of six months prior to enrolment.
Forms of application for enrolment are available on the table at the back of the church or can be obtained from myself. In order to be entitled to attend the Annual Parochial Church Meeting and to take part in its proceedings, forms of application for enrolment - and all amendments - must be returned to me or placed into the relevant box in church by the date shown above so that the revision can be processed.
Once the revised Roll is issued, any error discovered in the Roll should at once be reported to me.
